Definition
  • A licence was required where you intend to have entertainment, such as a dance, concert, variety show or other entertainment to which members of the public are to be admitted and where some payment for admission is to be paid. Legislation requiring this licence has now been superseded

A public entertainment licence is issued by the local authority for all buildings at which entertainment is provided to the public. The licence will only be issued subject to a satisfactory inspection to assess fire safety and emergency procedures.
