  • The Environmental Protection Act 1990, as amended by the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 allows Local Authorities to seize, store and dispose of abandoned shopping trolleys within their area. The legislation allows for Local Authorities to recover costs from the owner of the trolleys.
